I have been researching my father's family for a while, and it all has been a straightforward process--until now. I am trying to find the marriage records for my great great grandfather Manuel Rodriguez and my great great grandmother Trinidad Silva, who were presumably married in Mazamitla, Jalisco in 1865. Manuel Rodriguez is the son of Jose Jesus Rodriguez and Maria de Jesus Martinez. Trinidad Silva is the daughter of Vicente Silva and Rita Silva. I have parsed through the marriage records for Mazamitla and nearby Quitupan, but marriage records do not exist for 1864-1867 and 1862-1867, respectively. Their marriage records are the only thing that could tell me where they came from, seeing as nobody in my extended family knows. Do I look in military records? Do I leave open the possibility that they may have come from elsewhere? What other resources do I turn to? Thanks in advance.

The farthest Pedroza ancestor found to my knowledge is Santiago de Pedroza
who died before July 2 1656 and was married to Juana Bautista de Alva.
Their children were Marcos de Pedroza, Nicolás de Pedroza, Juan de Pedroza
and Leonor de Pedroza.

The farthest of the Padilla ancestry is José Trinidad who married María
de San José de Cervantes and their children were Encarnación Padilla, José
María Padilla, José Marcial Padilla and María Teresa de Jesús Padilla.

The Westminster, California City Council, passed a Resolution on July 24th honoring all Hispanics/Latinos.

In the past, members of my local LULAC Chapter 3017, often requested and were successful in having the City of Westminster make a Proclamation in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.

This year, City Councilman Sergio Contreras, a LULAC member, went one step further. He proposed a City Resolution be passed that every year the City of Westminster recognized Hispanic Heritage Month, not as a result of a citizen request, but as a City Council. Hooray for Sergio!!

I share this, hopeful that other groups will emulate Sergio’s action in their city. Call your Mayor’s office, and ask what is needed to request either a City Proclamation or Resolution recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month.

Hi, my name is Stacy Latocha and I am trying to continue research on my
family. I know that two of my great-grandparents were born in the Nuestros
Ranchos area. Great Grandfather Francisco Reyes was born in Zacatecas and
died in Torreon in December 1944. I have had absolutely zero luck finding
anything out about him at all.

Great Grandmother Maria Juana Joaquina Garcia born in San Juan de los Lagos
16 August 1888. I have been able to tease out her background to a degree,
but I would like to go further.

I am at the marriage record for her grandparents Don Cipriano Garcia and
Dona Teodosia Franco. However I am now stuck! I cannot read this or make
sense of it. Can someone with a further background in the abbreviations
help me? I am looking at the second record down on the left. None of my
Spanish speaking family can help me.

Can anyone help, I am looking for information on Salvador De Rubalcaba, born about 1650, married to Juana Gutierrez. They had a son, Balthazar De Rubalcaba y Gutierrez in 1678, Teocaltiche, Jalisco. Thank you.

Hello all. I am Jes?s Rodr?guez. I am new to this endeavor, and am constantly learning new things. My main area of interest is the municipalities of Valle de Juarez (formerly known as Valle de Mazamitla), Mazamitla, and Quitupan in the state of Jalisco. La Barca and the rest of Los Altos are also of great interest. The last names I am researching are Vega, Cisneros, Chavez, and most importantly, Rodriguez.

My first goal is to trace my Rodriguez patrilineal line all the way to Spain. I am aware of how great a task that could be, especially for a surname that has been as thoroughly diffused as Rodriguez. Nevertheless, I have made some progress. Using the 1930 Census, other civil records, Church records, and help from relatives, I have been able to trace back my ancestry beyond any reasonable doubt to 1873. First, there is my grandfather, Pascual Rodriguez, born in 1902 in Valle de Juarez and son of Sostenes Rodriguez and Maria Vega. Siblings include Manuel Rodriguez (b. 1904) and Maclovia Rodriguez (b. 1906). Sostenes Rodriguez was born in 1873, baptized in Mazamitla on 1 December, and was the son of Manuel Rodriguez and Trinidad Silva, and grandson of Jose Rodriguez and Teresa Martinez.

I also done some DNA testing on family DNA. Now the family Finder DNA results are somewhat different compared to the ancestry.com DNA testing I'm a little confused!

I'd like to provide a brief introduction of my genealogy background for the membership at Nuestros Ranchos:

I began my mother's patrilineal genealogy research in June of 2010, and have been actively researching and documenting our Udabe ancestors, particularly from the towns of Teocaltiche (1700-1800) and Villa Hidalgo (1800-1930), with an emphasis on Rancho Arroyo Seco, just outside of Villa Hidalgo (formerly known as-Paso de Sotos) in Jalisco. My mothers's matrilineal lineage derives mostly from Calvillo, Aguascalientes, and possibly from Zacatecas.

I'm eager to find other researchers who might have ties to or any information regarding the following surnames-
Udabe (Udave, Eudave, Udavi, etc.), Esparza, Salas, Serna, Soto, Lopez, Rios, Aguallo, Rubalcava, Penalola, Ornelas, Romo, Reynoso, Rodriguez, Sanches, Arizmendes, Delgado, de la Serda-from the following locations: Teocaltiche, Paso de Sotos, Villa Hidalgo, and Rancho Arroyo Seco, in Jalisco, Mexico.

I'm also researching:
Penalosa, Salas, Martinez, Mondragon, Marin, Bargas, Rubio, Duron, Salasar, Ramirez, Marques, Robalcava-in Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico. I'm looking for any information for Pablo Salas and Juana Mondragon, probably married in Aguascalientes, around the timeframe of 1840-1850, and their son, Magdaleno Salas, born about 1851…location unknown…but most likely in Aguascalientes, also.

I believe my mother's Udabe ancestor originated in the Basque areas of Spain, however, I've yet to identify or document any specific ancestral connections across the Atlantic. I've located and "googled" a small village by the name of Udabe-Basaburua in the Pyrenees Mountains, and have been able to enjoy seeing a 360-degree view of it from the main road through town. The countryside is quite beautiful and pastoral, from what I can see!

I'm willing to exchange information, and I do my own research and documentation. I speak very little Spanish, but can read and understand "un poquito"- (especially with the help of online translation sites). I was born and raised in the United States, and both of my parents (now deceased) spoke Spanish at home…so I'm not totally unfamiliar with the language.

I've followed the Nuestros Ranchos website for several years now-in the public forums and I very recently obtained N.R. membership. I look forward to corresponding with the various researchers within the N. R. membership.

I have been trying for months and searching for my GGGrandfather, Jose Joaquin de Leon
born San Francisco del Rincon, Gto? around 1700? He was married to Sixta Hernandez.
I have found the children, but not successful in finding the birth date, place and marriage of Jose Joaquin de Leon.

I would like to see if someone could help me out; for the Following record for Felipe Canal (married Benita Figueroa in Oct 28, 1827) in Union De Tula,Jalisco,Mexico - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JCFC-W5B . I am trying to find the original image for that record.

I an looking at Jalisco's Catholic Church Records under "Unión de Tula, Nuestra Señora del Rosario" and I see that it only goes far back as 1828. With a quick google search I see that the church was establish in 1828; so where would that 1827 record come from? I am assuming a nearby church, is there any way to tell from the records info:
