Hola amigos, ayer envié dos veces éste mensaje y no llegó por lo cual me hizo pensar que estaba muy grande el mensaje y por eso no llegó, por lo cual lo recorté. Espero así si llegue.

Es mi linea de Rodríguez de Frías que de Nochistlán se fueron a los Altos de Jalisco, a Tepatitlán y Jalostotitlán. Muchos de los datos los tomé de la obra de José Luis Vásquez y Rodríguez de Frías, por lo cual me gustaría saber si ustedes tienen alguna diferencia con los datos presentados y los que ustedes tienen.

Se habla que el primer Juan Rodríguez de Frías es hijo de Hernando de Frías y nieto del conquistador de Cíbola Rodrigo de Frías, me gustaría saber que tan cierto es ésto.

Primera generación

1. Juan Rodríguez de Frías nació en 1583 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México. Él murió el 26 Junio 1672 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México.

Juan se casó con Gertrudis Amaya. Gertrudis nació en 1585 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México.

Ellos tuvieron los hijos siguientes:

+ 2 M i. Bernabé Rodríguez de Frías nació en 1600.

Segunda generación

2. Bernabé Rodríguez de Frías (Juan) nació en 1600 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México.

Bernabé se casó con Mariana Íñiguez, hija de Juan Íñiguez y Andrea Cortés. Mariana nació en 1605 en Nochistlán, Zacatecas, México.

Buenos Días,
Estoy tratando de conectar a los Anda-Altamirano de Jerez Zacatecas, con los de Lagos de Moreno. Encontré en el libro de "Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia" del autor Mariano Gonzalez-Leal que entre los hijos del Capital Juan de Anda-Altamirano y Juana Ruiz se encuentra Isabel Anda-Altamirano casada con Francisco Prieto Gallardo (el 20 de enero de 1659 en Teocaltiche)que mas tarde se trasladaron a la zona de Jerez (linea de la que desciendo). En dicho libro no se menciona la fuente para dicha conexión, ya que el matrimonio no incluye el nombre de los padres de Isabel. Asimismo encontré la muerte de su padre Juan de Anda y dice que no hizo testamento. Ya también revise los bautizos de Lagos, y no encontré el de Isabel.

Dicha conexión la encontré en algunos mensajes dentro de este foro, asegurando que Isabel Anda es hija de Juan de Anda; pero desgraciadamente ninguno de los mensajes incluye la fuente.

Agradecería mucho cualquier información al respecto

se casaron el 27 de diciembre de 1692 en aguascalientes
el hijo de pedro de herrera y maria rodriguez
ella hija de juan de salazar y maria s.

el detalle es el siguiente:
no tengo mas informacion sobre nicolasa ya que aperece con distinto apellidos
como de la cruz salazar, fernandez de palos, fernandez salazar.

tengo sospechas posiblemente sea descedientes de los fernandez de palos pero no estoy seguro

espero y alguien me podria ayudar a encontrar la ascendencia de nicolasa se lo agradezceria mucho

My interest in family history comes from my engagement in the Chicano Student Movement in the late 1960's. Although born in Jalisco, Mexico, I came as a child to the United States. During the next twenty-plus years I went through a transformation not understanding what was occurring to my sense of self. By the time I reached my mid twenties, I no longer knew who I was culturally or racially. I was being educated (again) at a great university continuing a process of learning of others with little information on who I was or how I got to be who I was. The politics of the times raised so many questions about who we all were as a society and as a member of the world's community that I were to engage myself and add to the world, I had to know who I was, really and deeply. Deeply meant my roots. The work of discovery began. I continue that work with this genealogical work. With help of a cousin in Mexico, we have built a family tree that takes us deeply into Mexico and across the United States, including Spain and other countries of the world.

While my roots are in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico on my paternal side, our family also has been present in Zapotlan/Ciudad Guzman, Guadalajaara, and Valle de Mazamitla, My mother's side is rooted in Sinaloa. Here is a bit of family history beginning with the first Carrillo to arrive to Tamazula (according to my father):

Jesus Carrillo was born in Burgos, Burgos, Castilla-Leon, Spain. He died in Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico
Quirina Tovar was born in Tamazula, Jalisco Mexico. She died in 1850 in Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico

Ygnasio Carrillo Tovar is the only son known of Jesus and Quirina. He was born in Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico. He was married to Maria de Jesus Contreras Antillon.
Maria de Jesus Contreras Antillon was born in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico about 1845. She died in 1907.

Cliserio Carrillo Contreras was the oldest of two sons born to Ygnasio and Maria de Jesus. He was born in 1862 in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico. He died in Tamazula de Gordiano , Jalisco, Mexico in 1940. He married Marta Gauna Gomez on Jan 28, 1914 in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico. She died in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on Oct. 12, 1965. They had eight children.

Manuel Carrillo Contreras was the youngest of two sons born to Cliserio and Marta. He was born on Jul 10, 1874 in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, Mexico. After arriving in San Francisco, California with one son (my father) in 1926 seeking work, he went to work cleaning oil tanks on ships. He died in San Francisco on Feb, 1927. He was married to Maria Bautista Gudiño. She was born in Zapotlan, Jalisco on Aug 15, 1876 and died on Feb 2, 1971 in San Francisco. They had three sons and one daughter, José Ignasio (my father), Alfredo, Manuel and Clotiilde, all born in Tamazula de Gordiano , Jalisco Mexico.

There will be a genealogy conference held at the University of Aguascalientes (Mexico) on Aug 28-29. Arrangements are being made at the Hotel Francia Aguascalientes for anyone wishing to stay there. I do not have the names of speakers yet but it will include Mariano Gonzales Leal among others. Our own Mickey Garcia will also be a speaker. I was to accompany her but suffered a broken ankle on July 21st and am in a Rehab Hosp for therapy and will not be able to attend.

I heard the stories by my grandmother of when the men of "Che Che Campos" attacked our town in 1912. They took money and sometimes women along with them. When they passed through the townspeople would hide their money.

Este 2014 se cumplirán los primeros 100 años en que se conmemora el acto revolucionario que dio origen a cambios en nuestra sociedad. Existirán algun libro que mencione nombres de algunos participante villistas?

Sigo buscando a un personaje de nombre Juan Torres Rosales que tenia 16 años de edad y cuyos padres eran Luciano Torres y Merced Rosales. Murio a los 97 años en San Pedro Piedra Groda, Zacatecas.
Puede alguien indicarme donde localizarlo los mas antes posible. Se cree que era nacido en Tepezalá, Aguascalientes en 1898

i've tried finding death records for some people on my family tree and have had no luck. for example i know that my double great grandpa felix lopez must have died after 1906 but before 1926, but i can't seem to find his death records. i'm also looking for some of his kids' death records since some of them died from a plague during that time.

i'm also trying to look for a death record for a triple great grandfather named nabor ceballos. supposedly he lived to around a hundred years old. since nabor got married for the first time in 1858, his birth year would most likely be at around 1840. if it's true that he lived to a hundred, he would have died sometime during the late 1930' and early 1940's.

Thank you all for your contributions of personal cuentos, historical tidbits, and great assortment of articles. It is always an adventure opening up my mail.

You will notice a new category in this issue, Heritage Projects, directly under the United States category.

It is my hope that if you are starting a heritage related project, such as a family reunion, locating and identifying a historic site, promoting the contributions of an individual or organization that you will send the information along and let other know what you are doing. We would like to share your efforts with readers. You may be starting a project which could encourage others, or even attract assistance in fulfilling your goal.

As I was preparing the issue, I received a call from Tony Zapata, sharing some good news. Tony had completed arrangements on a building in Los Angeles for handicapped veterans, to named after Guy Gabaldon, WWII hero. The dedication of the building will be November 6th. I put Tony in touch with Steve Rubin, producer of the documentary East L.A. Marine, the true story of Guy Gabaldon. Steve will be assisting in the text for the plaque and press releases, etc.

Please let us know what you are doing in your community to share the historic contributions of your primos or heroes.

The front page in the August issue is a 1980 poster by the well-known work of artist Ignacio Gomez. The poster is a reminder that Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15 to October 15. Hopefully, you will find some ways in which you can celebrate your Latino heritage.

Let me suggest that you request your City Council to make a public proclamation recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month. Call your mayor's office and ask how it is done in your city.

The NCLR conference and Family Expo was outstanding. You will see some photos and comments in this issue and also in the upcoming September issue.

Hello fellow members,

I'm so glad to have found this group for our little area in Nueva Galicia
and have enjoyed my genealogy research for some time. However, I've done
my best to trace back my family line on my own but have hit a discouraging
road block. It's time to reach out for help and hopefully other's have
followed this same family line. The references below are all from El
Sagrario, Aguascalientes.

I've researched my father's line (grandfather is GARCIA and grandmother
GONZALEZ). However, the furthest I've reached for certain is Fernando
Fermin Garzia (born El Sagrario, Aguas, 8/25/1754 and Christened 9/15/1754,
married to MARIA ANTONIA ABAD ALONZO VERNALES DE LOS YNOJOS on 3/26/1794).
However DE LOS YNOJOS confuses me because I believe (not sure) that
FERNANDO FERMIN's father was JOSEPH MANUEL GARZIA who married MARIA
ANTONIETA ALONSO DE LOS YNOJOS, on 4/16/1752. Did Fermin marry a
half-sister?

Going further back, (the rest of this line back i'm not confident) JOSEPH
MANUEL GARZIA father was CARLOS GARCIA (baptized 12/1/1705) married JUAN
ARIAS (baptized 5/3/1711) on 2/5/1729. If this information is correct, the
last (stumbling block) information I have is that CARLOS's birth parents
were JOSEPH GARCIA and JOSEPHA FERNANDEZ (Ortis?). I have no information
about dates or where Joseph and Josepha were born/married. This has been
my dead end for MONTHS!

Any assistance or guidance (or education) would GREATLY be appreciated.
I've seen success other's have had here, but have always been reluctant.
But I have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

I cannot find Ygnacio Munoz and Ygnacia Hurtados acta de Matrimonio de San Miguel el Alto of Jan. 09,1786 . I am trying to find out there parents. I have a (Ygnacio Munoz) An Antonio Munoz de Nava and Gertrudis Ramirez de Hermosillo or(same person) Paula Gertrudis Garcia de Hermosillo. (Ygnacia Hurtado ) I have Cayetano Hurtado and Maria Munoz.
Now I also have for Ygnacia Hurtado Parents-Julio Cayetano Hurtado and Maria de los Dolores Maltide Macias-Valdez.
