These forum posts are from the old “Ranchos Archives” which was part of a Yahoo Groups system that operated between 2003-2006. This was a hybrid of electronic mailing lists and internet message boards. The files are “Read Only” and many of the users of the Yahoo Groups are not part of the new NuestrosRanchos membership, so keep this in mind when viewing these message posts and replies.

Thanks to everyone who entered their information. I think it will
become very benificial to all of us.
What I think is good about the database is that when you open it up,
you are given that "Search This Table" input box. If you type in a
surname or a location, it lists out all the people searching that
surname and or location. A very useful feature, be sure to try it.
The fields in the table are: Name
Email Address {optional}[but provide it anyway, jp]
Research Surnames {Surnames you are researching.}
Research Location {Cities, Towns, Ranchos that your ancestors are from.}
My Location {Your current location - optional}

face=Arial color=#000000 size=2> I used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain the petition and naturalization papers of my Dad. Those documents contained quite a bit of information -- his wife's name, where he was living, his race, his employment career, children he had had, the port he used to come into the United States, etc. It helped quite a bit, but unfortunately, what I was looking for was not correct. He indicated he was born in Nuevo Laredo, but I found out he used that city only because he had relatives there and didn't know where or when he was born. However, if the information had been correct, it would have provided valuable information regarding his past. PTSIZE="10">Arturo Garza |
