I've done several genealogy presentations--one for our local genealogy society and two for our local library. I enjoyed doing them but the best part was showing people HOW to do their own. I had a computer set up and a big screen, then I went to the Familysearch.org.

I just had a quick question, for everyone. How many of us, here in the Ranchos group, teach research classes or give genealogy presentations?
And I will be the first to say that, I do (In fact I teach a weekly class, and will be presenting at 2 conferences in September).
The Etzatlan, Jalisco portion of the 1930 Mexican Census was lost. I'll try to
come up with a more inclusive list of places that were 'lost.'

I too am descended from some Acevedos that used the parish church in Tepetongo that served the communities of Salitrillo, Tinaja, Estancia, Buenavista, Salitral, Vivoras, Sauces, and a few others. I had the film # 0445156 that I transcribed for the time period you stated, and there is a gap in the records from 1780 to 1787. I looked at the index of the batch number for that film, and I didn't find any De La Vega or Vega, Bega or any Toribio or Bernardo Acevedo, Asevedo, Asebedo. Perhaps the records for your ancestors are lost, as they are for many of my ancestors.

Padrinos could be anyone who was Catholic and who was deemed to be in good standing with the church, thus they could be siblings. Often times the padrinos were not married to each other but usually were in some way related to the parents of the child who was baptised.
I have a Sebastian de Luna married around 1680 to Josefa Lozano, from Aguascalientes. The only Sebastian de Luna I've found around that time and region is the son of Luis de Luna and Josefa de Haro, or Esquivelm christened in Tlaltenango on 10 February, 1659. Could anyone confirm if he is the one married to Josefa Lozano?

Alvarado my Great great Grandfather (Candelario ) was born in Villa de Saltillo in the state of Coahuila his parents were Juan de Alvarado and Maria Pascuala de Luna , Jose Antonio Candelario Alvarado was thier son baptized the 10th of Feb. 1792 . My question is do you think that the Lunas from Tlatenango came up to Coahuila ?

I was recently surfing on Family Search and found the place where Lope Ruiz de Esparza originated from has several films from the 1500's. Ciudad Esparza, Pamplona, Navarre, Espana.
