Hola a todos. Aprovechando la discusión en torno del apellido Romo de Vivar, quiero exponer la inquietud que alguien me planteó acerca de que algunos ascendientes fueron caballeros templarios. En lo personal, desconozco que tan cierto sea esto o no.

For the last two years I have been working on putting together my mother's family history. It started out with an small idea and has grown into an extensive project. The printing of it became too expensive so I decided to go with a power point presentation format. This has allowed me to include many bells and whistles to the book and make copies for my family members. At first I wasn't sure of what to include so I did a "what to include list" and used that as my guide. Next, what did I have, need and what did I want to include... I wanted an interesting cover page for the book and then continued with a
Hello-
I have been reading the posts on these two names, Tello de Lomas and Sandi de Diaz Lines, and wanted to know if anyone has information on my below ancestors. Below is info from book, "San Gabriel Valley Families of Nueva Galicia" which is incredible and I highly reccomend anyone to buy this book if they have note.

Does any one know the names of the parents of
Mathiana Ruiz de Esparza who married on December 29, 1655, to Alonso Martin?

Stuart, Are you saying that the actual entry in the church book states Joseph instead of Jose? That is weird, because I thought it only happened in entries that were transcribed (indexed?) by someone who took liberties. And yes, ph is Greek--I just taught Antigone by Sophocles. ABB

Fellow Historians--
I have always been told that the fall from world power for Spain was in 1588 because of the Spanish Armada. Perhaps there are other opinions and perhaps it depends on which part of the world you got your history lessons from? Comments?

I would like to access copies of the Zacatecas records that you have compiled. I' m not sure if this is the correct procedure for communicating such requests. Thank you in advance, Raymond Medrano

Hi, Daniel:
I checked my family history center for films in the area you asked, Hidalgo
del Parral in the 1600's, but they are all from the 1800's after 1850.

I would appreciate any comments, corrections and / or additions to my following 'dead-ends',
Juan MARTINES-CALBILLO and his wife Josepha AGUILERA De Sandi, and their descendants.
Also, what is the connection, if any, between them and the following couple:
Bunas Tardes a todos los compañeros de este foro, desde hace un año estoy
trabajando en construir mi árbol genealogico en algunas ramas he avanzado
hasta cerca del año de 1800, para esto me han ayudado algunos datos del
Yeah, I did the same thing. I first uploaded my Gonzalez file separate from
my other file. I just uploaded it again through my original genealogy
file. You go to your genealogy file where your other family trees are and
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member to this group, and I wanted to let you know I have uploaded my GEDCOM which includes over 6,000 names. A lot of this tree is from Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, and Jalisco.
I learned the following when consulting with a volunteer at my local FHC and am posting it in the hopes that it may be of use to others. If the Catholic marriage was of two people of different parishes, the banns would need to be posted in each church where each was then living.
I have been on a quest for the marriage record of Benigno Cabral and
Pioquinta Gonzalez. I have been reading George Ryskamps book on doing
hispanic research and have found a way to search out their marriage record.
This will be of particular interest to the descendants of Reyes-Medina lines.
I was able to locate the marriage of Antonio de los Reyes to Isabel de Esparza, although she is listed as Isabel de Hortiz, daughter of Juan de Ortiz and Luisa de Esparza. I then found the marriage of Isabel's parents:
Hi, Daniel:
I know someone that goes to my same family history center and she has a
bunch of films on indefinite loan there for that area. I will check to see
if they are of that time period. Unless someone else helps you out first!
George and Peggy who? This is great. Yeah, I'm going through the baptisms
microfilm for the San Diego parish now for that time period, 1833-1875, to
locate any other children. That is how I found siblings and cousins, aunts
Hi again, I also have Alejandro Chávez Fragoso and Paula Rivas, (I think Paula was from San Luís Potosí or Guanajuato) Alejandro and Paula married in Villa de Reyes, SLP, but should order the film to get the place where she was from, IGI had listed there parents which helps, and found kids for them in Aguascalientes. dont have a marriage date, I can somewhat say that Alejandro is the son of Francisco Chávez Fragoso, since in the Aguas films, hes the only Alejandro, Ive been able to find in Aguascalientes in the time frame, then Francisco is married 1681 to Marina Sotomayor daughter of Bernabé Montáñez (de Tovalino???) and Isabel Carillo de Sandi, who married 14 jun 1659 in Teocaltiche, (does anyone know who these guys are) back to Francisco was son of Simón Chávez Fragoso who married Juana Padilla (no marriage date) he is from Teocaltiche, Hacienda de San Marcos, which was own by the Chávez Fragoso. Not sure who Simón's parents are but due to the time frame, he should be a son of the patriarch, Pedro de Chávez y Fragoso, but I checked Retoños vol II and don Mariano does not list nothing on Simón, eventhough this name seems pretty common around 1660-or so, but my Simón is ca. 1617 or so.
