Hello Everyone!

I have become confused so anyone that can help me I would appreciate it! I had the parents for Toribio Hernandez de Arellano 1530(spouse: Isabel Hurtado de Mendoza) as Juan Hernandez de Hijar and Isabel Ramirez de Arellano but as I recheck all my info trying to put it together I find that he is also listed with Diego Ramirez and Ines de Brienes as his parents. Which is correct?

Then I went to "Tipo Documental" and a long list came up and was looking at some. I looked at "compraventa esclavos" and it had a list of people that bought slaves, gives names, and the slaves they bought.

I was browsing through the names and saw that in 1724, "Melchor De Richarte Mercader, Fernando De La Campa y Coz Coronel De La Infantria Espanola" :

I have been going through it. What else can you do? Can you search the name of a town or surname to narrow the search for lets say testamentos?

I read somewhere that in some census in the 20th century Mexicans were declared White for census purposes. It changed from decade to decade. On my birth certificate, my Mexican father is listed as white as is my Scots mother. On my oldest daughter, a nurse determined that I was Mexican and my Anglo husband was white. When I informed her my dad was listed as white on my birth certificate, she said I'd have to take it up with the state. I thought, "forget this crap!"

how do I read this I guess im confused in why certain names are on that list and others are not. example: Maria Trinidad Alvarez is Jose Guadalupe Duran mother why is his dad not on the list.

I want to look up "Angon" in the Zacatecas or Jalisco area years 1600 - 1750's.

To see if any other people with ties to Angon's had done more research than I did and have other information that I can use. I wanted to see "Maria De Angon" on this list but when I click on it, it won't let me see any more information since I have to pay a membership fee.

Thank you very much for the detailed information on how the original rancho
de Joan de Angon (1633) became Estancia Rio Chico in 1681 and finally
changed to Hacienda Santa Rosa. I presently do not have any pictures of Rio
Chico/Hacienda Santa Rosa. I researched a location for a Rio Chico and
found it to be about 37 km (23 miles) from Teocaltiche. This location is
significant to me because it suggests that a child could be born in Rio
Chico and baptized in Teocaltiche. This is the pattern that my ancestors
followed. In 1752 Juana Maria Lozano Diaz was born in Rio Chico and
baptized in Teocaltiche. She was the daughter of Juan Miguel Lozano
(generation 9) and Lorensa Diaz de Sandi. Juan Miguel is also the father of
Rafael Lozano (gen. 8, b. abt. 1740), who married Petra Aguilar. Rafael had
a son also named Juan Miguel (gen. 7, b. abt. 1765), who married Maria
Tejeda about 1799. One of their sons is Domingo Lozano (gen. 6, b. 1816)
who married Paula Becerra in 1839. His oldest child was Eugenio Lozano
(gen. 5) who was born 17 Nov 1841 in Rio Chico. Eugenio left Teocaltiche
and went north to El Paso, Texas. He is my great-great grandfather.

I have to look up the church records for those ancestors between Eugenio and
Juana Maria Lozano Diaz, to see if there is continuity in their being born
in Rio Chico. If Eugenio was born there, your information suggests that it
may be another Rio Chico since it is not listed as Santa Rosa. Thank you
again for your valuable input, I will continue this research and keep
everyone posted.

While researching the ancestry of my fifth great-grandmother Lorenza de Aguilar y García de Alba (born 1740 in Cocula, Jalisco), I discovered that she descended through her maternal line from Francisco García de Alba, who in 1563, was granted land in Ayutla, Jalisco by the second Viceroy of New Spain. According to Jesús Amaya Topete, historian of Ameca, the García de Alba family "flooded" places such as Ahualulco, Ameca, Autlán, Ejutla, and Tecolotlán and Cocula as well. Francisco García de Alba's great-grandson of the same name married Casilda de Ortega Maldonado, who was related to the Topete family of Ameca.

Does anyone also descend from this family?

I'm also trying to look for the book "Ameca, protofundación mexicana", which is the brilliant work of Jesús Amaya Topete, and which contains more information on this family. Does anyone know where I could buy it from?

Juliana Francisca Isabel was the youngest daughter of the Conde Don Fernando De La Campa Y Cos of the Hacienda San Mateo of Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico.

She was also married to Juan Olivan De Rebelledo who was the First Governor and Capitan of Texas back in 1723.

My name is Bob Lozano, and this is my first posting. During my retirement I
have been researching my genealogy and found that my Lozano lineage goes
back to Rio Chico, in Jalisco. The earliest document I have is for the
Christening of Juana Maria Lozano Diaz on 17 Sep 1752. She was Christened
in Teocaltiche and was born in Rio Chico. The posting of zacatecano020
details the naming of Rio Chico in the late 1600's from the Estancia De
Esteban Angon". My question is, "when did the Lozano family become
associated with Rio Chico?" I am also curious to know if there was any
contact between the Angon family and the Lozano family.

I present this information just in case anyone in the group happens to be
related to the families mentioned below. Take heed that I am not endorsing
this group of lawyers but just passing on the information.

My 7th GG Grandparents:

Antonio Madera (1660? - 1709?) and Maria De La Candelaria Angon (1655?-1735)

They resided at Minillas, Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico

If anyone finds their marriage record can you please let me know because I want to see who their parents are.

I believe that the father of Maria De La Candelaria Angon may be "Esteban Angon" who at her time had an Estancia called, "Rio Chico" near Jerez which today is now the Hacienda Santa Rosa. That Hacienda started out as a rancho in 1632 which belonged to Joan (Juan) De Angon) which then it went to Esteban Angon. Esteban Angon had two herederos which one is suppose to be Juana Angon. The other should be Maria Angon.

Who where the Chinacos of Mexico? They didn't have anything to do with Chinese.

They were suppose to be mestizos and brave men. One of their notable styles of dress is a scarf that covered their whole scalp.

I am going through defuntos of Zacatecas in the PARS website and I came across an interesting one.

A person by the name of "Simon De Los Angeles" who is originally from Pampagna, Phillipines that passed away in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico in 1676.

His occupation is "Filigranero" which is a "jeweler."
