Gracias.

Jorge Luis Ramírez Gómez.

Need help from the experts on how to read the surnames on this marriage information

The following is what I received from one of the California Missions of my ancestors on their marriage:

On May25th, 1859 Francisco Carrizosa 34, native of Tujuta Son. residing in el Rancho of San Jose, widower of Jesus Celaya of Jose & Pabla (Paula) Gastelo with Micaela Manzanero, 36 widow of Franco. Bustamante also of sonora of Pedro & Concepcion Ortiz, living in S. Jose, Ramon Andrade & Maria del Carmen Guillen witness.

I am not sure who Jose & Paula Gastelo are related to. Are they the parents to Francisco Carrisosa or to Jesus Celaya? The other question is, is the surname Gastelo the maiden name to Paula and assuming Jose's surname is Carrisosa or Celaya? I have the same questions for Pedro & Concepcion Ortiz.

Thank you. Anna Miklovic

Hi everyone,

I did find records that listed Ojo de Agua, Aguascalientes and I know of records at
El Senor Del Encino. I was lucky to visit Aguascalientes with my Grandfather and Grandmother ages ago when I was a teen. Both of them have now passed on.

Raphael Romo de Bibar, Pedro Romo, Miguel Romo de Bibar, Luisa Romo de Bibar

Hi

I have been searching for some time for any reference to Don Raphael Romo. Now I have totally by chance found a person with that name (including the title). For anyone else with this name in their records (or any of the others in the subject line), here are the details (question marks indicate an abreviation I am unsure of, but think it means village or something along those lines):

Mexico Catholic Church Records, AGS Calvillo, Senor San Jose, Matrimonios, 1772 - 99, image 15

Antonio Romo, Ma. Jacinta Lopes de Naba, Jose Ma. Ygnacio, Francisco Guerrero, Ma. Diaz

Hi

I have ealier seen an interest in the name Antonio Romo, so here is a reference to him (or, one of the Antonio Romos of the area!)I recently found:

Mexico Church Records, AGS, AGS, Sagrario, baptisms 1781 - 86, image 103

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11810-117282-3?cc=1410092&…

Baptism on 22 Jan 1784 of:

JOSE MARIA YGNACIO, espanol, born in this villa, the 11th of the current month, legitimate son of:

FRANCISCO GUERRERO and
MARIA DIAZ

Padrinos:
ANTONIO ROMO and
MARIA JACINTA LOPES DE NABA

Incidentally, I put the name Maria Jacinta Lopes de Naba into family search, and her marriage with Antonio (Manuel Antonio) Romo showed up:

"Mexico, Marriages, 1570-1950," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JZKC-4LB : accessed 13 June 2012), Maria Jasinta Lopez De Naba, 1772.

So then I looked up this record just on a WHIM (Its nice to be able to FIND something your looking for...even when its not something you are actually looking for!) and on the page opposite I found a reference to a Don RAPHAEL ROMO (is my long quest almost over?), Don PEDRO ROMO and Dona LUISA ROMO. That info will be in a separate post...

Valdivia Family

I am trying to find information on my husband's maternal grandfather, Emilio Valdivia. His father was Tomas Valdivia, and his mother was Secundina Ramos. Does anyone have these names in their family tree?

Emilio Valdivia was in the seminary in Totatiche at the time of the Cristero War, and had to leave to avoid being killed. He immigrated to Southern California.

We cannot locate any information regarding Emilio's family. I don't know if he was from the area around Totatiche or somewhere else. We have heard that he might have been from an area in Zacatecas that wasn't too far from Totatiche. Knowing nothing of the area, I have no idea where that might be.

Does anyone know anything about any Valdivia families around Totatiche, or are there any Valdivia's in Southern Zacatecas? Can anyone give me any ideas of how to research the family of Emilio Valdivia?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Maria Guadalupe Martinez, Pablo Martinez, Gertrudis Romo, Ynojos

Hi

Here is the baptismal record of Maria Guadalupe Romo. I am in serious doubt about the name of the place, as a google search does not turn it up. If anyone has the time to check out the link to the image and correct what might be a mistake, I would much appreciate it.

Denise

Catarina Romo, Fermin de Medina, Jose Vicente Francozo, Matias Francozo

Hi

I am sifting though images still looking for the elusive Romos (Raphael, Raphaela, and son Manuel). Sometimes I come across a Romo and then I cross check to see if the name has ever been mentioned her in NR. If not, then I post it on the chance that someday someone may need that info - or maybe there is someone out there already needing it.

Catarina Romo:

She shows up as padrina for Jose Vicente, español, legitimate son of Matias Francozo and Anna Gertrudis, natives of this town (Aguascalientes), padrinos were Fermin de Medina and Catalina Romo...

There was no note of Don or Doña.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-11810-118367-21?cc=1410092…

I searched the name Francozo (Francoso) in IGI because I'd never seen it before (but then I am new at this), and found out that there were many in the Aguasc area and also Guanajuato, and one hit in Enc de Diaz. The earliest Francoso in Mexico in IGI was in 1690 in Tacubaya (Mexico City). At that time it was a beautiful area where viceroys and other families of wealth and prominence had their second homes. (From Wikipedia, article on the "start" quality scale, but it does include references to academic articles)

Hola a todos de Nuestros Ranchos. I was browsing at www.somosprimos.com went to the search block and put- padilla davila. I then scrolled to Descendents of Lord Pedro Gonzalez de Mendoza, compiled by John D Inclan. I appears according to what I read that I and many if not all of us are related to all of the people of Mexico ,Texas, and New Mexico. John Inclans research touches much of Jalisco ,Zacatecas ,Aguascalientes ,All the north eastern states of Mexico ,Texas, and New Mexico. I was was tripping. If any one has an e-mail to John D Inclan I would like to ask him if any of the Hurtado de Mendoza are tha same as an in example of Isabel Hurtado de Mendoza wife of Toribio Hernandez de Arellano. Hit a brick wall With my family

Hello everyone , it seems I've hit a brick wall so to speak , in my Juarez and carrillo lineages . I've gotten as far as 9 generations in each. Family but now there's nothing left. For the Juarez sisde I found nothing from Felix olayo juarez and his wife justa rosa nabejas and fatter back in history. Same for Jose Maria Carrillo and gertrudis ortiz(Ortis). I found that they had 2 other children on new.familysearch.com but I can not find the records, hoping for names of grandparents. I'm stumped lol. Can anyone help me out or make any suggestions? Thank you all very much, Lorenzo Carrillo.

Nayarit & Euskal Herria

Is anyone here doing research in Nayarit? If you are interested in collaborating, let me know. I have concentrated in Acaponeta and will expand to Ixtlan del Rio, Huaxicori - and north in El Rosario (Sinaloa). I'll be sticking with records between 1700-1900, give or take.

Through one of my families in Nayarit, I have been transported to the Basque Country, and I'm also looking for a partner who has had his/her feet wet in the Basque Country, to share findings or team up and split the work.

I am concentrating on the places listed below:
(Years 1500s - 1600s - and some early 1700s - nothing after 1750)
Etxaguen, Aramaio, Álava
Uribarri, Aramaio, Álava
Ibarra, Aramaio, Álava
Oñate, Guipuzcoa
Bergara, Guipúzcoa
Eskoriatza, Guipúzcoa
Zaldívar, Vizcaya
Abadiño, Vizcaya
Durango (Uribarri), Vizcaya
