Hello everyone,

Primos site and was able to make some progress on my research!
I was wondering if any of you, that have experience with the Los Altos
Great message Daniel, I feel the same. I would love to travel to the land of my ancestors and feel of their spirits. I want to see the land where they lived and I would like to find the living family. I would like to find the ranches that my grandfather owned. I would like to find pictures of family members long gone. I have always wanted to see what they looked like. I just would like to know them better.
Hi all. I am planning a trip to Mexico in the fall (leisure trip to Cabo San Lucas, B.C. Sur) and was wondering if anybody knows of a bookstore chain - or national bookseller - in Mexico that I can reasearch and perhaps order some geneaology books from.
I so apologize for what I sent....obviously incoherent...here I go
again...this is what I was able to obtain regarding my Luna's side of the family
(registered or baptized in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas. I think the Luna surname is one

Hi Sofia,
Funny you should ask about visiting the graveyards in Los Altos. Some years
back I asked my Dad to take me to the cemetery and he looked at me as if I
had taken leave of my senses. He asked me why I would want to go there and
Hi everyone. I posted my geneology file; it contains seven generations from ZACATECAS: mostly from Moyahua & Contitlan, but also some Jalisco (Altos) scattered about.
[You can find it if you click on my memberID, then on the "TRACK" tab.]
Irene (prima):
I looked at our lineages carefully and this is how you and I are related:
My 3rd great-grandfather, JOSE ANICETO REYNOSO, was the brother of your 2nd great-grandfather, JOSE GREGORIO REYNOSO. Their parents were TORIBIO REYNOSO and MARIA NORBERTA ROMERO.
Hello all,
I need help with this record. Do any of you have the film or the book
where you can look? I would love any more info you can find... Thanks!

About two days ago I got curious about Daniel Mendez family tree and thought maybe he has it in rootsweb site, I tried some surnames and voila! found out we descend from Juan De Leon and María De Escapa, difference is his Juan has "Quezada" surname and the Coss Y Leon, mine is only De Leon, we already communicate about this.

I am presently in Teocaltiche, waiting for the conference which will be taking place this coming Saturday. Dr. Mariano Gonzalez Leal has not arrived yet and is not expected until then. I am sorry I don´t have any information to report yet. I should be back home in California by the 9th of August.
For those members of the group that will be going to the meeting in
Valle de Guadalupe this weekend a new member of the group Carlos
Yturralde would like info about this meeting. Can you email him directly
There is more info about her ancestors in my gedcom in this site.
I also am expecting for Lic Mariano Gonzalez-Leal next edition of Retonos...to know more about this line that took the apellido compuesto Cos Y Leon or Coss Y Leon, nowdays this decendancy in U. S. A. turn it into Cossyleon.
Hello Sandra,
My family comes from Jalostotitlan, and I'm curious if your
Gomez are Gomez Hurtado de Mendoza or Gomez de Portugal. I've been
researching my paternal Gomez line, and it is Gomez Hurtado de Mendoza.
Yes you are right... Amoxochitl as well.

Greetings to all. I am learning quite a bit from these postings…general information such as the whys of dispensas and social classifications. Thanks to everyone.
My main area of research is Zacatecas, however, is there anyone doing research in San Luis Potosi who can offer suggestions. Names: Alvarado, Galvan, Rodriguez, Soto, Garcia, Ybarra, Lozano, Mireles. My trail ends with Calistro Alvarado born abt 1763, married to Geronima Mireles .
Wow... these seem to be an inventory of some sort, no? If only we knew where these were.
It is very unusual to find information on Juchipila and Moyahua for 1700-1800... at least I've had a very hard time.

Hola a todos,
Hi Everyone,
I've been a member of Nuestros Ranchos for some months now & enjoy reading all the tips & tricks & new ideas I see here. (Due to school responsibilities, I have no had much time for research.) But none of them have enabled me to find out more about my paternal gg grandparents, D. Simon & Da. Micaela Torres (de) Quinteros. So now I'm asking for your help. Simon was born in Mexico in 1852. His father may be Mario/Mariano Quinteros-not sure on the mother who may or may not be a Rosales. Simon married Micaela Torres who was born in Mexico in 1849. She was the daughter of Rafael Torres-again not sure about the mother. They were married in the chapel of Hacienda del Fuerte by a priest of the parish in Sta. Elena in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico on 24 June 1874. They had atleast two sons, Simon who I know nothing about, & Rafael who was born in Rio Grande in 1878 & later became my g grandfather. Rafael Quinteros md Domitila Mendez who I
